Description
Staff from laboratories participating in the VF-B 2025, Vitreous Fluid, Postmortem Surveys program can individually earn CE credit by reading the Participant Summary (mailed to the institution or accessed online) and answering online learning assessment questions. The online learning assessment questions are designed to reinforce concepts and discussion points presented in the reading.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Describe the specimens most frequently used for newborn drug testing and their detection windows for drugs and metabolites.
- Identify potential causes of false positives and false negatives for immunoassays and mass spectrometry-based assays for drugs such as methamphetamine.
- Recognize the metabolism pathway of methamphetamine and potential causes of false positives for immunoassays for amphetamines.
